Espresso Tonic in a glass: dark cold brew visibly sinking through pale tonic over ice

The taste – honestly described

First the freshness. Then the coffee.

Bitter-citrus on top from the tonic, the dark depth of cold-brewed espresso underneath. Not bitter, not sticky-sweet, not cola-with-coffee. More of a clear, grown-up coffee aperitif – cold, with fine carbonation. 250 ml, alcohol-free, EU organic. Not an energy drink. Not an iced coffee. Something of its own.

Two varieties – the evening is where decaf shines

Caffeine for the day. Decaf for the evening.

Can of Espresso Tonic with caffeine, 250 ml

With caffeine

Around 40 mg straight from the espresso bean – the little afternoon pick-me-up.

Decaffeinated

Same enjoyment, same refreshment – just without the caffeine that keeps you up later. Finally a coffee drink you can open after dinner too.

The 24-can tray has both varieties in it – you don't have to choose.

Why it exists at all

The queue at the bar.

At Biofach 2025, Johannes Schubert shared a trade-fair bar with the coffee people from Mount Hagen. A queue formed in front of the Espresso Tonic – people came back a second, a third time. At some point it was clear: this has to go in a can. Today Johannes stands behind it with his full name and face. The full story →
